Michigan Election Protection Attorneys

a collaboration between Lawyers for Good Government, PROMOTE the Vote fund, and aclu of michigan

As an Election Protection Attorney, you'll monitor early voting sites and polling places as a challenger (or poll monitor if you're not registered to vote in MI), use challengers' special rights and responsibilities to engage with election workers if you observe problems, and be on call to collect affidavits. Attorneys serving as challengers may also be asked by ACLU of Michigan to gather affidavits from voters and witnesses in support of emergency, same-day litigation — this role requires flexibility and a willingness to act under time pressure.

This program is a coordinated effort with ACLU of Michigan and Promote the Vote to ensure every eligible Michigander can cast a ballot free from intimidation or interference — and have that ballot counted.
