The Rights in Reel Time Challenge invites law students nationwide to create short, powerful videos that make constitutional rights clear, compelling, and relevant today.
About the Challenge
Hosted by Lawyers for Good Government (L4GG), this nonpartisan national competition is designed to raise awareness about the rule of law through storytelling.
We’re looking for 60–90 second videos that explain civil liberties protected by the Bill of Rights — with special emphasis on the First and Fourth Amendments — and how those rights shape life in modern America.
Your video can be informative, dramatic, funny, or creative — as long as it’s accurate, accessible, and unforgettable.

Who Can Enter
Open to law students currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. law school.
Teams of up to three students are allowed, but each team may only submit once.
Must be 18 years or older.
Judging & Selection
All videos will be evaluated blindly by a panel of legal experts, journalists, and educators using a detailed rubric.
Judges will assess entries based on:
Constitutional Foundation – Understanding of key principles, amendments, or precedents
Accuracy – Factual correctness and credible sourcing
Educational Value – Clear and accessible explanation of legal concepts
Creativity & Engagement – Strong storytelling that keeps viewers interested
Clarity & Quality – Organized presentation, clear visuals, and audio
Finalists and winners will be announced publicly in late January 2026.
