There is no such thing as "good government" without racial justice.

Lawyers for Good Government is committed to standing in solidarity with Black, Indigenous, Asian, and Latine Americans and all communities who are most directly impacted by systemic racism and oppression.

Lawyers for Racial Justice (LRJ) is an initiative to mobilize critical pro bono legal resources in the fight for racial justice.

Lawyers for Racial Justice, developed by L4GG in the spring of 2020, works on two fronts: (1) systemic change to promote long-term reform, and (2) remote pro bono legal clinics to advise those dealing with the effects of potentially discriminatory policies. LRJ focuses in a number of sub-issue areas within the broad mantle of racial injustice, such as the role of law enforcement in schools, voting rights, criminal justice, equal access to education, and broadband access disparities.

For each sub-issue, we identify organizational partners, conduct extensive research and analysis of policies that create disparities, and then where possible, draft model legislation that promotes racial equity.

Lawyers for Racial Justice is made possible with support from a coalition of law firms and corporations, known as L4GG Pro Bono Partners.
